Lithium fails when starting Light Display Manager

I am trying to install Lithium (dual boot) on a new Asus Zenbook UM433DA-NH74. FYI, it has an AMD Ryzen 7 3700U processor and a Radeon RX Vega 10 integrated graphics processor.
During startup I get the following message:

[FAILED] Failed to start Light Display manager.
See 'systemctl status lightdm.service' for details.

Performing 'systemctl status lightdm.service' yields (here is everything since I am unsure what is important):

Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/lightdm.service; indirect; vendor preset: enabled)
Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Sat 2020-09-12...
    Docs: man:lightdm(1)
 Process: 1338 ExecStartPre=/bin/sh -c [ "$(cat /etc/X11/default-display-manager 2>/dev/null)" = "/usr/sbin/lightdm" ] (code-exited, status=0/SUCCESS)
 Process: 1340 ExecStart=/usr/sbin/lightdm (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)
Main PID: 1340 (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE)

Running /usr/sbin/lightdm yields:

** (lightdm:1407): WARNING **: 14:24: Error getting user list from org.freedesktop.Accounts: GBBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.Accounts was not provided by any .service files
** (lightdm:1407): WARNING **: 14:24: Could not enumerate user data directory /var/lib/lightdm/data: Error opening directory '/var/lib/lightdm/data': No such file or directory

This occurs both on live and disk installs.

Note that before this happens on disk installs, it asks for iwlwifi drivers, which I successfully apply

How do I fix this issue, or, are there any other diagnostics I can provide to help?

Thanks much.

Re: Lithium fails when starting Light Display Manager

The other OS, is that another Linux or Windows?
Can you boot live Ubuntu och plain Debian Live?

Have you examined linuxcompatability for your hardware? I guess it is rather new hardware.

Have you backports enabled and updated drivers/kernel from backports?
