Anomalous behavior during install

I don't know if this is a bug, or just an example of my lack of attention to detail.

I attempted to install Bunsenlabs on my wife's laptop from a DVD that I'd used the day before. The earlier attempt, on my laptop, worked without a hitch. During this more recent attempt the install would hang just at the moment when the actual 'install' began. I retried a few times with no success. So I put the iso on a USB stick. The laptop booted from the stick OK, allowed me to proceed with the process, but while scanning for install media it looked for the files on a CD/DVD rather than locating the files on the USB drive. I couldn't find a method, or didn't recognize one, for redirecting to the USB drive. So I thought... what the heck... and stuck in the DVD with Bunsenlabs on it... and everything proceeded normally. The install files were copied from the DVD and not from the USb stick.

Re: Anomalous behavior during install

How did you transfer the ISO image to the USB stick?

unetbootin breaks Debian ISO images.

In Windows, using universal USB Installer.

USBWriter works better in Windows:

The problem you describe occurs when the image is incorrectly transferred.

FWIW, it can be fixed within the installer by dropping to a console screen and mounting the USB stick to /dev/cdrom0 manually.
