Better late than never... Welcome to the September Scrot thread! This is where you can post screenshots of your setup, as long as it's in line with our somewhat elaborate rules and instructions...
Please use thumbnails. Do not embed images larger than approx 250x250px (62,500px) into posts, use thumbnails linking to a hosted image instead. Thanks!
Various online free image hosts are available, such as Imgur, imgbb, freeimage.host, scrot.cloud, postimg.cc, etc...
Use the following BB code for posting please:
** Update for Imgur users **
Imgur only provides the link to the full image, but just add "t" to the name to get a thumbnail link, and the filename extension eg:
[ img]https://i.imgur.com/7S2EJEgt.png[/img ]
^
Imgur also provides a variety of thumbnail sizes, and the linked BBCode, in the image "View and edit" screen.
imgur wrote:
Sizes: Original · Small Square · Big Square · Small Thumbnail · Medium Thumbnail · Large Thumbnail · Huge Thumbnail
Repeat: To get the linked direct image you need make sure to add the file extension to the url. Their recommended BB code doesn't really convey this properly.
Once again when choosing a thumbnail size please keep in mind our approx 250x250px (62,500px) thumbnail file size constraints.

I just discovered that Cinnamon has it's own wallpaper switcher with fade available in it's "Backgrounds" settings GUI, so bye-bye Variety. My current lockscreen...

Dammit, don't make me boot into my other laptop and install Plasma.
Fine, I'll boot into my other Buster laptop and install Plasma over BL Openbox. Happy?
Right, so going with kde-standard over lithium buster, see you after 721 newly installed packages. This could take a minute.

33% Progress, the suspense is killing me.
Really flowing now, it's almost at fifty percent downloaded/installed.
Eighty percent...
Right, reboot because I've switched from lightdm to ssdm.

And it sucks. Not.
A little bit sucky, I can't remove the desktop folder icons. A conflict with a BL autostart settings or something.
No wonder I post the same desktop over and over, moving to something new is usually a nightmare.

It's just ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs
You need to make a ~/Desktop folder and change
XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/"
to
XDG_DESKTOP_DIR="$HOME/Desktop"

Right, thanks. No $HOME/Desktop on lithium by default, that's why the GUI config isn't working to disable the folders.

@ohnonot and @nili I still haven't grasped what tint2 executors are doing that buttons don't do. A hint?
Sorry or the late reply.
Executors can display dynamic content right in the panel - text/images changing with every automated execution of the command. And react to clicks.
I can't live without it because when I listen to music I need to see some metadata.
xfce4-panel has a similar plugin (Generic Monitor) but it's not clickable and doesn't support images afaics. tint2 is really unsurpassed in that respect.

Thanks! That does make them look worth checking out.
It sounds as if you'd be able to make something like a customizable systray icon?

Yes, you can output only a path to an icon, without text.
tint2 has 2 ways to accomplish this:
execute the command in regular intervals
run the command continuously and display the last n lines every few seconds
