Slightly prematurely, drums, the correct answer is: Not CG! (It is actually a frame from 2k video).

It's a scary state of affairs when RealLife imitates CG!

Right, but this is 'real', besides slight grading and slight noise-reduction. With real I mean water captured with time fast enough does actually have this sort of weird glass-like nature.

~insert Bruce Lee's water quote here~
Empty your mind. Be formless, shapeless, like water.
You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot.
Now, water can flow or it... can... crash! Be water, my friend.

Since you were asking the question in the first place, the answer was clear to me almost immediately.
First of all, you usually use a different resolution for sharing your blender stuff.
Then, zooming the image 1:1, I noticed certain imperfections or slight bluriness that further indicate a real photograph (in retrospect, most of it probably comes from the video encoder).![]()

Yeah, that's creepy. I particularly like the dead-baby-wearing-a-cap root at center screen. Looks like baby Groot needed more water.

Looks like a nice B&W photo of tree roots.

Looks like some underlying stonework. Might be a close up of some ruins like Angkor Wat or maybe some Mayan ruins on the Yucatan.

You must unlearn what you have learned.

Weird. I just watched a very beautiful, boring documentary on Angkor Wat two nights ago, I had never heard of it before that.

This is close to the very steep end of a pretty long valley (That ends with 100 m waterfall), so the ruins are rock and boulders trashed down to the forest from 3 sides of the mountains (not human made).
