That's odd , i see a sold grey desktop png?

You have to know your film quotes when reading @hhh's ironic comments:

"My god, it's full of stars" is a phrase associated with a scene from the 1968 film "2001: A Space Odyssey" in which the protagonist David Bowman is traveling through the star gate created by the monolith orbiting Jupiter and the awed expression face that he gives.

And Trenton - please read the first post in this topic regarding image posting hmm Not everyone has a fast connection or unlimited data.

I beg to differ! This fits your contribution perfectly IMO:

irony: an expression or utterance marked by a deliberate contrast between apparent and intended meaning

But sardonic at the same time wink

sardonic:  scornfully or cynically mocking

Re: July 2020 Screenshots

Well that attempt at humor went over like a ton of bricks. sound of a ton of bricks falling flat

Debian Buster cinnamon LIVE non-free installed, with Broadcom 43 drivers copied over from my BL laptop post-install, barely customized (just a wall change). I'm still using the Adwaita theme and icons...

I like my new 12 year old Dell Latitude E6400. A nice upgrade from the 14 year old Dell Inspiron. Refurbished, and it looks brand new, under $200 USD delivered. $1100-$1200 or more when it came out in 2008. 4G ram and the superior backlit keyboard and higher screen res, I lucked out that they sent me the good model (no details on the Walmart website). Linux FTW.

I'm not even sure it was ever used, it's so pristine. I think "refurbished" might mean that it was sitting in a warehouse and they pulled it out and slapped Windows 10 and 2G more ram on it so they could finally sell it after more than a decade.

I had a look at it when you first mentioned it, was surprised at the age. But it really sounds like a superb piece of hardware and still worth the price you paid.
Although, doesn't it fall in the "luggable" category?

FontAwesome chars

From theme.cfg i'm using FontAwesome to show three dots indicators. My installed font is "Font Awesome 5 Free-Solid-900.otf"

toolbar.workspace.font: Font Awesome 5 Free-12: Solid

From init using this code

session.screen0.workspaceNames:,    ,    ,    ,   ,

If you can't see the dots means the fontawesome isn't installed properly.
FontAwesome Cheatsheet ---Preview---

session.screen0.workspaces:	3

I have three dots because i'm having only three workspaces, If you want to add more workspaces you should add more font chars aswell.

No, it's only plain fluxbox-toolbar, tint2 choice is much more complete for the toolbar, but I am personally using fluxbox with fluxbox -no-slit or-no-other-additional features.

Thanks, the fact that my old Dell Inspiron was so Linux compatible is what sold me. For this model, the only thing not available in the Debian non-free install is Broadcom b43 wireless drivers, which are in the Debian stable repo, and which are included in both Helium and Lithium. I didn't even need to tweak any config files.

Luggable, you mean very heavy but still portable if necessary? Agreed, I think it's nearly 6 lbs/2.7 kilos if I bring both the battery and the power unit, but that's not an issue for me, the battery is good for only 3 hours under load anyway. It's essentially a desktop that I can still pack in a suitcase if I travel. I remove the battery when I use it at home, so all the time.

To quote Boris "The Blade/The Bullet Dodger" from Snatch, "Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work you can always hit them with it."

Also, seeing the tiny screens and keyboards that business people are using these days, if I ever do bring it to my local coffee shop I'll be the envy of all the Apple, Microsoft and Chromebook users, I think. The screen looks fantastic, and the mechanical (?, not the Apple or Chromebook chicklet style), back-lit keyboard that lights up if I touch a key or the mousepad or the ThinkPad-style nipple cursor-control and then times out after fifteen seconds is a joy.

Tokia Linux is simply a modified name, distro specifically it is Debian NETINST, I have mentioned it early on this thread i was playing with hostname.

More Buster Cinnamon on the new box, this is the end of the first round of tweaks that includes some custom cinnamon theming (highlight color in the panel, notification time-out is increased)...

I don't have any color blindness, so that icon change is dramatic on my display.

Re: July 2020 Screenshots

Final tweaks to the Arc cinnamon theme (renamed Lithium-cinnamon). 70% panel/volume/brightness transparency, 80% for the menu/notifications (maybe the other way, I just finished editing a bunch of files and it's always a minor miracle when it works. Dizzying), all blue highlights replaced with glorious St. Joseph's Aspirin for Children orange. Blech, tasted horrible as a kid.

It's not hard to change theme colors and transparency in Cinnamon, but it's not easy either. Not only is there a css file to edit, but you have to edit the individual svg image files as well.
