@hikinrory no, if you've already installed the experimental Lithium, all you need to do to keep going is to change the apt sources to point to the official repositories:
deb https://pkg.bunsenlabs.org/debian lithium main
Any improvements in the official release will be in the packages, so you'll get them too.

I haven't installed the experimental but in the past when a new release came out for my daily driver, I just edit the sources and apt-get dist upgrade. I've kind of wondered if there was an advantage to a clean install. This machine looks and acts just like it did when I installed Jessie on it. When I upgraded to stretch, still the same. I like to save my surprises for Virtualbox or something I'm not counting on everyday.

I came to BL because of a bad upgrade on Crunchbang++. I figured if I was going to have to do a clean install, I might as well try something new.

I see. You're currently running Debian Stretch? In that case, just editing apt sources and doing a dist-upgrade is unlikely to be enough. Remnants of your current operating system will need to be cleaned up.
A clean install of BunsenLabs Lithium is more likely to go smoothly, but as rbh says, the final decision is yours.

Some days ago, I noticed that I had Double Volume icons in the tint2 systray. I also got a popup-message
PnMixer Error
Could not grab the followin HotKeys:
[...]
It was severel months ago, we disussed that pnmixer did not autostart from /etc/xdg/autostart/pnmixer.desktop, it has to be added in ~/config/bunsen/autostart. (Can not find the posts..)
I found now that both autostart works. The double start gives the error.
Default start now for pnmixer, should that be in ~/config/bunsen/autostart and /etc/xdg/autostart/pnmixer.desktop be removed?

I cannot find /etc/xdg/autostart/pnmixer.desktop on my Lithium system, nor is it listed in 'dpkg -L pnmixer', nor is pnmixer mentioned anywhere in 'bl-xdg-autostart --list'
Did you add the /etc/xdg.. file manually? If so, then yes I'd suggest just removing it and allowing the entry in ~/config/bunsen/autostart to launch pnmixer.
Otherwise, maybe you've installed a newer version of pnmixer that installs an xdg autostart file?

No, i did not. But, I see now that it aint installed with BL dev iso, but from Buster netinstall iso. That might explain it. I was so deadcertain it was installed from BL iso. My apologies.

That happens to all of us. Linux is tricky that way. All that customization at your fingertips, it's like being Spiderman. And you know Ben's advice to Peter.

But that just makes it stranger! Does the Debian Buster netinstall iso install pnmixer? And see the filelist of Buster's pnmixer: https://packages.debian.org/buster/amd6 … r/filelist
No sign of any autostart files in /etc/xdg
