Maybe @ratcheer knows, since he got a GS recently, iirc.
Well, I bought mine (GS1000e) used and I don't know exactly how old they are, but yes, they came in a box that is a lot like a pizza box. On the inside, though, everything was well secured in cut-out foam material.

Nice. The fact that Firefox warned me that the site was a potential security risk made it twice as nice.
That said, pffft. 2020 Backes Miller BM 100, $500,000 USD...

Look at that stupid photo, the speakers could be 6 feet farther apart and the right speaker is not toed in correctly.
You're renting a several million dollar per year apartment and you don't have your 1/2 million dollar speakers set up even close to correctly??? You idiot! At least get them away from the glass and over by the long wall! Those things are hideous, why would you put them by the window?!?? Why am I this anal retentive?!??? Hey, I'm shouting here!!!

Keith Jarret live, fairly recent. I posted this a few days ago in my piano giants rant, I think.

I can hear the sound engineer... "Man, that whiney singing along with his right hand is annoying as Hell. Put the mics twenty feet up, overhead, that'll help. Crap, I still hear it. Fuck it, press it. That's the best I can do."

Strange. I didn't get that on Firefox (78), but I've disabled its Goolag-phoning "safe browsing" setting and rely on uBO's Malware related blocklists. Is anyone else getting that message, I wonder?
But yeah, old-skool Brit loudspeaker companies (that don't incessantly remind us of what they did at Abbey Road four centuries ago to misdirect everyone from seeing what they've degenerated into - a lifestyle brand) that cater to mixing/mastering studios (as opposed to kleptocrat living rooms) are what I'd put in my acoustically treated man-cave if I had one, meaning ATC, PMC, Quested and the like.

^FWIW I didn't get any Firefox (68.10.0esr) warning when visiting that speaker site.

Same as John (68.10.0esr) - no warning.
Debian 12 Beardog, SoxDog and still a Conky 1.9er

Put it down to his browser then.

Currently on lyl.live: Methods of Dance.
I'm blown away.
This station has more to give.
Always weird, sometimes too extreme even for my taste.
Just finished "Tales of the Far East", now it's TECHNOGRAMMA - some sort of - erm, did I say weird already - hiphop/rap. Or psychedelic rap? Right now it sounds like Damo Suzuki on the streets of Chicago, just him and a Ghettoblaster...

I've been listening to the live stream the last couple of hours now and loving it.
I'll try that programme archive now.
Thanks!!

Nor I on my new laptop with a fresh Buster cinnamon install. A browser issue on the old laptop for sure.
French radio stream FIP. Trés eclectique (I have no idea if that's correct French, but I'm sure it's close)...

La radio musicale la plus éclectique.
Gave this URL to radiotray-ng and it's playing OK at the moment:
https://stream.radiofrance.fr/fip/fip_hifi.m3u8
Streaming URLs die quickly though.
EDIT love this station!

And adjusting buffering doesn't seem to help, though smplayer/mpv works better for me than audacious for streams. Maybe because I'm on wireless it's worse?
EDIT love this station!
Moi aussi! C'est très bien!
Currently playing, after several French songs, The Doors - Riders On The Storm
"Like a dog without a bone, an actor out on loan." Leather pants carried Jim a long way, because his lyrics do not stand the test of time.
And now they're playing Richie Havens - Hurricane Waters. Fantastic station.

Yeah, I can relate. I sampled their programming for a full day back when I first discovered them. This is probably the only station where I've heard Dukes of Chutney, Charlie Parker and The Scorpions mixed b2b in the space of 10 minutes. I wouldn't call it my thing (I generally like my grooves a bit more linear), but it was cheerfully challenging.

I'm trying to figure out how to save johnraff's Radio France stream link in vlc (it plays beautifully, btw). There is a Save Playlist, but it seems to want to save the currently playing track, or something. The Icecat Radio Directory has one Radio France station, but it is a different one. And the vlc documentation appears to be very old (like, 2011 or so). Confusing.
PS - I've been listening to it for about 30 minutes. Great music selection, and great sound!
