Hi all
Apologies for being a bit quiet recently. Have been busy at work trying to keep things going during the pandemic.
During the last few months, I have grabbed a few minutes here and there to play with Wayland compositors. Noticed people chatting about it in a couple of threads over the last week, so just wanted to share what I've done.

Didn't want to shout in the public threads, because it'll just distract from the Lithium branch. Let's consider it BL background R&D.
I dare say it's gone a lot further than Waybox
...but has an awful long way to go.

What hhh said.
Even if X11 is still alive in Bullseye (probably the case) it will be great to have this as an option when the time comes when we're forced to choose an Openbox replacement.
I don't know how complicated offering the choice of X11+ OB or Wayland+compositor in the same BunsenLabs release would be. Thought...

Definitely a thought for a year or two from now. I imagine copying how GNOME does it wouldn't be too hard, but that's pure speculation.

Progress is going fine. We're 80% complete against the Acceptance Criteria for 'minimum viable product', but it will take some time to achieve the sort of stability and reliability we have on X (which has been the journey for KDE, mutter and sway - so not surprising).
I've created https://github.com/labwc to avoid me being a sole dev - which never seems like a good idea.
Am getting some interest from the puppy community - which is a funny twist on lab I suppose.
