^ Yep I do agree, I'd add Joanna Newsom to the list as well. I do really like the Fiona Apple album, but not in a 'best thing I've heard in the last 10 years' way. It's always hard to know how these things happen, is it all orchestrated behind the scenes by the record labels or is it just one influential critic that everyone decides they can't disagree with. Or is it really just that good?

Kate Bush - The Dreaming (1982). This is a dry production to the extreme. Peter Gabriel didn't get this dry. This recording is a well-made martini, a drink dying of thirst.

One of the world's greatest musical and visual artists,IMO. Successfully navigating the commercial musical industry to produce mass-consumed actual art is no easy feat.
Speaking of which, Bjork - Wanderlust from 2008...

Kat Skinner - Dub U Crazy Ep. 4
I don't know why, but the sound is messed up for the first ten minutes or so. It sounds trippy and I'm lazy, so I left it. Thankfully it clears up when the good stuff starts. Click the Download icon (72.1 MB, 56 minutes of airtime)...

Learning Ardour, and my biggest fail is not understanding how it imports a stereo file. It imports it as 2 mono tracks, but the output is set to 50/50 on each channel by default, so you basically have a mono track output. Panning the channels left and right to get stereo makes a bit of a difference.
If you're not sick of it, here's what will air. Kat Skinner with the Dub U Crazy - Episode 4 remix...

i prefer the Grateful Dead usually, but "Bear's gone fishin'" is pretty tight, there are a few songs on the album that are pretty good.
That kruder and dorfmeister jam is pretty legit!

Listening now. Especially impressed by the cold intensity of Wata Igarashi's music. It's not exactly soothing though.

^ You'd probably prefer a couple of the earlier posts on this page. More your thing, I expect (dub reggae, fusion, tabla, etc). I'm just posting all these Bandcamp/BuyMusicClub links based on what I listen to on the given day, sort of like a diary, so it all depends on my mood and how the weather is in the dystopia outside.

Glad you checked it out!
We are now musical partners till the end of time. Unless you post Pachelbel Cannon or anything by Tchaikovsky, Stereolab, Jimmy Buffet or Van Morrison, and anything by Bob Seger except for maybe Turn The Page. That means war.
Oh, and Barber's piece they used in Platoon, Adagio for Strings. I'll find you, and it will get ugly. Sappy, but ugly. Treacle everywhere.

If you like Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders, here's Isle of View.
Great vocals (her voice at it's best), really great band, a maybe little too much female angst. IMHO.
I couldn't find this version on You Tube anymore, so a link to my copy, if that's okay.

^Chrissie Hynde/The Pretenders are a personal favorite of mine (you know... eighties, plus she was smoking hot in the day, still is if you ask me). They have a new album coming out titled "Hate For Sale"...

One of the greatest female vocalists in rock, and a damn good songwriter. That's her 68-coming-in-on-69 year old voice you're hearing, she was born in September of 1951.

^ Slight correction; Isle of View was 1995, so that makes her 44 at that point, but point well taken. Yes on smokin hot.
Same age as I am. I don't like her as a blond, just breaks my image of her.
