I'd say yes, but do disclose the source of your answer. Good LLM (like 5.6 Sol) knows more about Linux at this point that any man alive.

If you get a good answer to a question, it doesn't matter where you found it.

Of course, caution is always necessary.
You shouldn't use 'copy-paste' solutions if you don't know how to revert to the starting point.

It is better for beginners to ask questions on forums, as this way they will avoid the risk of making a serious mistake.
Experience is very important.

I don't know anyone who hasn't made mistakes.
Mistakes are part of learning.

Visually an [AI]stuff[/AI] tag would be neat thought.

As you can already feel from this 'abandoned' forum, the real danger is probably people stopping to communicate or communicate (scream) only on social media. Various 'meat proxy' or other negative ideas will not help.

I think it's fine to ask an LLM for advice or ideas, but not to just copy/paste the output into a forum as if it was from you. Of course copy/paste of another human's words is wrong too.

The key to that image message is the "without reading, understanding or validating it" part.

The [AI]stuff[/AI] tag idea is nice, but till that is implemented (probably not for some time) we can just use quote tags too:

...actually I had an interesting discussion with a free consumer-level AI (Claude Haiku 4.5) a few weeks ago about the meaning of consciousness. Says something about... what exactly? Anyway quite thought-provoking, to me anyway. I wanted to share it somewhere but a Linux distro forum didn't seem quite the right place.
