[STABLE RELEASE] Bunsenlabs Carbon Official ISOs

The BunsenLabs team are happy to announce our latest release, BunsenLabs Carbon.

Based on Debian Trixie, Carbon has had many improvements, including a new desktop appearance and assistance (coming soon) for users who want to experiment with Wayland.

If you have liked BL in the past, you're going to love this.

There is much more detail in the Release Notes: https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic.php?id=9675

Downloads are available from the BunsenLabs website: https://www.bunsenlabs.org/installation.html

A big thank you to all the community members who contributed feedback, suggestions and code!

Re: [STABLE RELEASE] Bunsenlabs Carbon Official ISOs

Hi! Happy to read this, and happy to b using it, but  question or two:

[1] How different is the stable from RC3?
I am assuming very little difference, as there were no updates available just a little while ago, therefore:

[2] Is there any way to get the xfce deskbar to the top of the screen?

i ask because I have had a bit of trouble with RC3. I installed it on an old HP pavilion desktop, and I had a massive amount of errors on boot, and appearance now fails to run (I haven't tried to fix this as yet, because I do not know how to fix it. lol).
Most of the difficulties I was having were fixed by upgrading the BIOS, now there are just a few nits I have to pick through.

In any event, congratulations! I look forward to many happy hours working on the new version.

That is correct.

Yes: menu > User Settings > Xfce4-panel > xfce4-panel Preferences
Many other things can be changed there (also available from a right-click on the panel itself).

Could it be the composition/picom issue? See the Release Notes linked above.

Re: [STABLE RELEASE] Bunsenlabs Carbon Official ISOs

@johnraff

It doesn't appear to be a picom error. I have an nvidia card, and it may well be associated with some issue there. More likely, when messing about with the system prior to upgrading the bios, I probably did something to prevent appearance from running. It did run perfectly when first installed.

If I change the deskbar to "horizontal" in the preferences, it flings itself into the centre of the screen horizontally, but selecting an appropriate profile changes it to horizontal, but I have to look into this more deeply.

Neither of these issues are a major problem to me, so I will keep pottering about reading up on a few things and see if I can find the problem without bothering anyone here unnecessarily.

Cheers!

Congratulations on the new release! I have Carbon rc3 already installed so it's good to see that I don't need to change much.
