At the end of January we're planning to upload new ISOs. This release will focus on better gstreamer-plugin support and upgrades to our BunsenLabs packages, which includes the switch from zenity to our backported yad for better bl-scripty goodness.
We're hoping that the forum members will contribute to testing and feedback (with details, please), so that we can follow this release with an "Official" one soon after.
Thanks for the support!

If you want to donate something, we're still suggesting that you donate to Debian...

We'll probably use PayPal to cover our web-presence costs, look for that in the near future.

@johnraff just did a major move, but the work still progresses at an impressive rate! Alles ist gut.

Before anyone asks, you should be able to upgrade an existing install to the RC2 configs with minimal effort. I think we're working on a script for that, but I'll leave those queries to @johnraff, @damo and @HoaS.

I may have some additional policy kit rules for your consideration. I have not fully tested them yet but should know whether they resolve some of the authorization issues I have been having soon.

Look forward to the new release.

Please open a thread if you haven't already done so when the time comes!
Thanks all!

Yes!! Can't wait. And yes I will be donating 10 dollars to the Debian Fund.
Will RC2 still technically be the "Hydrogen" release? or are we moving up to "Helium" ?
Will there still be a dependence on the Debian ports in /etc/apt/sources?

Still Hydrogen.
Not sure what you mean by port dependencies, but I'm sure that will be answered by someone.

@hhh. I posted the new polkit rules in Tips, Tricks and Scripts. Feel free to move it if you feel it would be better of elsewhere.

No script should be needed, just a normal apt dist-upgrade. (dist because some packages will bring in new dependencies.)
To upgrade your personal config files (making backups of the old ones) delete ~/.config/bunsen/bl-setup, log out and in again.

Many thanks for this. I wondered about moving it to "development" but since the contents are useful for users as well as system builders let's leave it there.

Erm, what are "Debian ports"?
BunsenLabs is a configuration package (and associated goodies) laid on top of a pure Debian system.
So yes, Debian repositories will still be present in /etc/apt/sources.list
This is why we suggest that any donations be directed upstream.
We can only see this far because we stand on the shoulders of giants.

May I ask for a status update on how things are progressing, and perhaps a link to the staging area from where the current RC2 development iso can be downloaded for testing?
Offline
^ There are some tweaks going on right now, and @hhh is hoping to do another iso build imminently, for the devs. Hopefully there will be a public version very soon....
