Tor browser no longer starts, error message

I have installed and deleted the tor tar.zip thing, redownloaded, repeated about 6 times. Multiple reboots and restarts. This is what I get:

$ ./start-tor-browser.desktop --verbose
Launching './Browser/start-tor-browser --detach --verbose'...
[2369] Sandbox: CanCreateUserNamespace() clone() failure: EPERM

The browser never opens. If I try again, it says there's another version of Tor running and I should close that.

This is brand new error  this week. Running Lithium on this one:

$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID:	Bunsenlabs
Description:	BunsenLabs GNU/Linux 10.5 (Lithium)
Release:	10.5
Codename:	buster

{Linux-using people I haven't met are friends yet to be made.}

New OS needed, I bet. Debian is at 13.2.0 now. You can try to upgrade Lithium one OS at a time, but it will be messy.

I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?
