Raspberrypi OS - rpi 4 - main menu partially black

Guys, i have updated my mum's setup recently and i need your help to fix something i did...

I have raspberrypi 4 which i have upgraded to the latest version of RPI OS 64 bit.

I actually re-installed the lates OS from scratch as I understand that they switched from X to wayland/labwc and I wanted to start from scratch.

It all works fine, it is incredible what a tiny board is capable of...

The only glitch i have is that "Games" part of the main menu (when you press on the raspberrypi logo) is just black.
All other submenus are working fine...

On top of the standard install i installed some more debian games and (here i am guessing) i think that while the games were installing i edited the main menu to sort out games (moved 2048 up wink ) and this cause some mess.

I am wondering if, considering all the work that you are doing with wayland/labwc you have encountered something similar and if there is a way to fix it.

i am not sure if i need to do something to labwc, or to the xdg-menu...

if you have any suggestion/idea please let me know

thanks a lot

M

Re: Raspberrypi OS - rpi 4 - main menu partially black

We haven't switched to Wayland/labwc. The latest (only) BL Boron we've released runs on X11. So, details on what you did to switch to Wayland?

No, he can't sleep on the floor. What do you think I'm yelling for?!!!

Hi @hhh, I know Bunsen has not switched to Wayland yet, but I saw the work done by @micko01 and the Team... and i thought you guys might have some recommendations...
I have been with the community since the Corenominal/Crunchbang times and even Bunsenlabs is not my main driver i still consider this the best place to ask for help, you are all very helpful and friendly

Regarding my issue, i don't think i have done anything special to upgrade to Wayland.
I believe that the latest OS just comes with labwc installed.

My pi4 was running the previous iteration of the Raspberrypi OS, so instead of updating i made a backup and basically reinstalled from scratch.

The main menu is not completely screwed, only the "Games" section is just black.
If i click on any location (on the black area) the underneath launchers work.
I just don't know what i am launching as nothing is visible.

I hope this helps a bit...
i can take a picture/screenshot next time i have access to the rpi

thanks
