Set non-esr Firefox as default browser

I added Mozilla's APT Repository in order to install the non-esr Firefox. Now I have 2 Firefox entries under Internet ("Firefox" & "Firefox ESR"), but also I cannot select to have the non-esr Firefox as the BL default "web browser" (it doesn't show up in list of browsers in the "Set Default Browser"). How can I fix this?

On a side note, is there any reason to stick with ESR instead of the non-ESR version?

Thanks.

Re: Set non-esr Firefox as default browser

Sounds like you'll need to add it to Debian alternatives, process outlined here:
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianAlternatives

Main reason I can think of for sticking with Firefox ESR is it's pretty much guaranteed to work, you *may* run into glitches and/or new bugs if you track the very latest.  How much of a potential problem that is I couldn't say, & it's likely Mozilla would fix such things fairly quickly.

If there's an obscure or silly way to break it, but you don't know what.. Just ask me
