My fav s Helium as other lighter themes as I m not a big fan of dark themes, but some are nice. My vision s not the best , so it might be why I favor lighter themes.
Interesting. I have two pairs of glasses, bifocals with photochromic lens and a pair especially fot the computer.
Light bothers my eyes. So the dark themes suit be better.

As stated above @Sector22, no 2 persons are alike, I m not the bigest fan of dark themes even if I find some that are nicely done, might be due to my old fart s habits ! lol

I wonder, though, if you could reduce these lists a bit? If we allow all of them to remain there will be almost nothing to remove! Maybe cut down to the one you prefer to use, plus 3 or 4 alternatives, for desktop and smartphone?
Others styles don't look good at all on my Android, as they have problems with text that is either cut off and extended at the bottom.
Yes, some of the styles seem to have been written years ago when people didn't pay so much attention to layout on small screens. My favourite, Crunchbang, turned out to be unusable on my phone, which is why I made Hydrogen-Dark.
Edit: Hydrogen-dev is it fine to be default for guests.
Are you sure you mean Hydrogen-dev? The recently chosen default theme for guests is Hydrogen-Dark. Hydrogen-dev looks to me like a work-in-progress which never got finished.

Nothing, thank you for the opportunity.

I printed all styles for both Android + Desktop, I will rank them in order from 1 to 24 and uploaded on My Drive.
I'm using a monitor 32inch 4K scaled to 200% and i'm not sure how these styles will be viewed in other resolution formats?
Those styles looks allright on both phone and desktop.
Air2
Antimon
Hydrogen
Hydrogen-night
Tungsten
Crunchbang, Crunchrex and Hydrogen-Dark all the three looks fine aswell, they also look more or less the same on my eyes Cruncbang style all the way, but i think keeping only Hydrogen-Dark and rid two others will shorten the list of styles. Hydrogen-Dark is a new Crunchbang? i think keeping this for the #! legacy as it is being used currently, it is absolutely fine.

I understand, they were made long ago and have not resisted subsequent web/tech changes.

I'm sorry, I wrote "Hydrogen-dev" very wrong, I should have written Hydrogen-Dark that the forum is using right now it's fine on desktop and perhaps laptop too. Hydrogen-dev style, looks allright on both phone/desktop.

Thanks! I read through that and added themes with a "bad" to the downvoted list.

OK all those have been added to the upvotes, and taken off the "candidates for removal" list.

Hydrogen-Dark is based on Hydrogen but it's been tweaked to look as much as possible like Crunchbang. (There might still be a couple of small bits left to do.) Anyway, Crunchbang is popular and Crunchrex and Hydrogen-invert are too new to get much exposure yet, so let's keep those as well.

We've now got a list of 11 candidates to remove in the OP, leaving 13 to keep.
That might be the way to go?
I'll back up the removed styles somewhere so they can easily be restored if necessary.

Sounds good. +1 from me.
I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?

btw, for those who missed it, Crunchrex should look exactly the same on desktop widths as Crunchbang, but it's a slight improvement for mobile use (some quick css hacks).

^Sorry, nobody voted for Lithium, and there was one downvote, so it was taken out. If enough people asked for it, it could be restored.

I was using Crunchbang for the longest time, until I saw this thread.
Decided to check out some of the others and have settled on Radium for now.

Until there was activity here today, I completely missed this.

Crunchbang
Apparently. Not something I'm likely to change having settled on one.
Could be my memory, but I seem to remember there being a bigger selection of smileys than now, I'm sure I've previously used ones that for certain aren't listed now.

OK let's consider this survey closed for now.
The styles have been cut down to about half on the basis of the input we got in April and I've marked the OP [DONE].
I don't think it's important enough to dig up again, unless someone has a strong opinion.

Smileys, I'm not sure about. Agreed there don't seem to be all that many - maybe when the forum was migrated to the new server and we dropped the addons, then some extra smileys got dropped too. It might - or might not - be quite easy to add some more, but maybe there are higher priority tasks...

There are absolutely higher priority tasks, I was merely observing.
