Looking good indeed. Great work guys!

^ Sweet conky, tint2 is looking fantastic as well!
Indeed.
If we use the vertical panel as default (as why not?), we should ship horizontal versions too.
Yeah, John is using some of my configs to get us off and running...
Yes that's the picture. Hoping to get an alpha iso out soon - we can fix the details after that.
...the font I'm using is in there. Change it to "sans" or the font of your choice.
Sans is a good choice because it will be in harmony with your other apps. The "sans" alias is currently set to "Noto Sans" but you can change it in Menu>Preferences>Font Configuration
@unklar picom.conf is here: https://github.com/hhhorb/boron-themes
But it might change a bit in future...

Funny you should post this right as I switched my font to Open Sans, because of this post...

I think the logo on the wallpaper, and the conky, both look really good.
But I'm wondering a bit if the two of them together doesn't look a little bit cluttered?
Could the conky be made a bit smaller, or possibly even be left out of the default desktop altogether? The time is shown in tint2 after all. A bit more elegant like this?
No super-strong feelings on this though...

You could make the font smaller. Like this:
conky.text = [[
${font Futura Bk BT:pixelsize=176}${time %l:%M}
${font Futura Bk BT:pixelsize=32}$alignr${offset -16}${voffset -130}${time %a, %b %d}
]];
------------
conky.text = [[
${font Futura Bk BT:pixelsize=150}${time %l:%M}
${font Futura Bk BT:pixelsize=22}$alignr${offset -16}${voffset -130}${time %a, %b %d}
]];

^thanks, but my question was more on the aesthetic level. Like, what did people think of it in terms of how the desktop would look without the conky, or with it smaller?
btw, @unklar, could you share the config you used for the horizontal tint2 here:
https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 36#p128236
Thanks!
(That "black window border" might simply be a question of setting the right openbox theme.)

I can very well imagine that without conky. You could deliver BL without the Conky. The color of the Emerald is just perfect.
The user can then, if he wants to, use the Conky Manager to make the Conky of his taste visible if, as before, under
~/.config/conky offers different conky configurations.

Thanks!
I won't be home until Thursday next week. The laptop that I have with me here does not have this configuration of the horizontal tint2 panel.
In any case, this is the configuration that was shipped with the Boron Light variant back then. So, nothing special.
(That "black window border" might simply be a question of setting the right openbox theme.)
Yes, exactly and it was changed by me. Perfect.

OK thanks, so it's probably the Beryllium tint2. I'll compare the colours with @hhh's vertical Boron tint2 to see if it needs tweaking to match. Or maybe @hhh will write us a horizontal tint2 also?

Yes, it is 'beryllium-tint2rc'.
Here is the code (which you will already have).
