System tray tooltip question [SOLVED]

My present os is bl beryllium. The problem is that tooltips at mouse cursor disappear almost totally outside the screen, namely net connection, battery and volume. The panel is located at the bottom margin. Intead, if a program was intalled later, has an icon at systray, the tooltip is nicely above the icon and its message obvious. The issue is not a big thing, a minor annoyance only.

Is it the same problem with "button_tooltip" (Main menu) and Logout/Shutdown and icons from minimised programs?

Relay weird. Did it work ok first after installing BL?
I would have tested with making backup of my tint2 config and copy tint config from /usr/share/bunsen/skel. If it then works ok, conpare th config-files, to pin donw the error.

Re: System tray tooltip question [SOLVED]

Menu and shutdown buttons have disappeared from the panel.
I must tinkered with tint2 conf file and this caused the odd systray behaviour. In all, bl beryllium has worked well. Only that shutdown and restart were very time consuming, a solution was available though.
There was a tint2 manager at Preferences/Tint2- menu. Helium.tint2r solved the problem with tooltips and missing icons at the panel.

P.S:Apparently by increasing the panel height >34 tooltips also flip sides. Systray icon height may have a similar effect.

Re: System tray tooltip question [SOLVED]

Try changing the ' systray_icon_size ' to zero in the offending tint2rc config. This should solve the 'offscreen-tooltip' issue.

systray_icon_size = 0
