Stable, upgradeable Openbox-distro NOW - please advise

I need to set up an older Thinkpad and would like to use an Openbox-flavoured Linux. For that machine I would like to avaoid a full re-install for about three years (I have others where I am more open to experimentation), and so I do hesitate to use Beryllium yet, since I am not sure if an experimental install now will be upgradeable to a future 1.0 release later.

You could help me if you would either take that fear from me concerning Beryllium or point me to another Openbox-distro, set up with usability in mind, that can expected to be kept reasonably up-to-date for about those three years.

I have boxes that been through three and four BL/Debian dist upgrades. Never encounted any serious problem with dist-upgrading.

BunsenLabs Lithium is another choice, I believe Debian Buster (old-stable) is supported by the LTS team for another 3 years...

Beryllium is perfectly stable, it's 99.9% Debian Bullseye (current stable). Any BL packages are fairly trivial to fix, we fix them quickly, and they can always be disabled. Once the official release is out, a change to the bunsen sources.list and a 'sudo apt update' will be all that's needed to be upgraded...

MXLinux is the most popular distro on Distrowatch and is also based on Debian stable. It's available in Xfce and Fluxbox flavors, both of which can easily be converted to an Openbox setup...

Sharp Bang! Is excellent & tiny. Look for it on Github it is a personal project. MiyoLinux Devuan based is also excellent (I normally get it from source forge). Both come with OB out-of-the-box.

Darn you are right.... I just downloaded and installed it about a week ago.  If you'd like a copy, I can make one available. I sure hope nothing happened to @Head_on_a_stick ....
