Hello,
I try to launch lithium 2.1 live on a Lenovo Edge et on a IBM R40 (this is a very old laptop). I could not connect to the web (neither WiFi nor cable RJ45).
So I did stop and did not install anything.
(I am working with a Lenovo v320 + BL - I think Lithium 2.0).
Can you help me ?

First of all, please make sure there is no hardware switch to turn on. I have a little LED thing that sometimes toggles to "off". Next, there are few things to diagnose.
Post the outputs of these things that follow, and this will start to help to diagnose for you. There will be driver no doubt for your card. I know the diagnostic steps, someone will help if you need to find a driver for the card. These things are almost always solvable.
In a console
$ lspci
and look for a line like what I get:
10:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN [Kedron] Network Connection (rev 61)
This tells us that your wireless card is seen by the system.
Then you can do it again with the number before the Network controller, for me it is 10:00.0
$ lspci -vv -s 10:00.0
which will give you additional details, including what driver is used for the card. I get
10:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN [Kedron] Network Connection (rev 61)
Subsystem: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN [Kedron] Network Connection

Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel driver in use: iwl4965
Kernel modules: iwl4965
Next use modinfo and the driver, for me, it is
$ modinfo iwl4965
I get

Post the outputs of all of it for your card, and that will be a good start to solving the problem.
