Wow, good font rendering in 2021. Well played. Next thing you know, linux will have proper audio. I wish.

I booted the Fedora 34 live USB. They have good font rendering now, wtf.
So how's the new Gnome [mid-life crisis] version? I know all about the UX changes, but what about Mutter performance?

Seems snappier than 3.38, smoother animations and shit.

^I still don't get it thought, how to use gnome?
a. How to minimize, should I not minimize?
b. Do I have to find 'super' key (or click activities) every time to start something?

You either use Gnome the way that the ruling developer race has given it to you or you should go sit in the corner and die. Of course.

Yes, that is the question, did 'they' leave any hints or sacred papirus stuff? (youtube stuff is showing people being happy with magic swipes, but I can't go there for some reason).

tbh, I like the Activities hot corner thing. I find it good for use with a mouse. Instead of aiming at a window, I just need to flick my mouse into the top left corner. But I'm one of those people who liked this from the start.

It seems that gnome's win+a shows that the animation of all applications will be slightly stuck (probably because of me). I have to say that gnome really consumes system resources, but what it can get is a beautiful desktop. .
In design, I feel that the Linux desktop is in a dilemma, too round like mac and too square like windows. . .

So true. As an xfce, cups and sane scanner user, they finally nailed it. Also the next cloud client is the good one.

Latest creation. Xfce on Arch.
Icons were a lot of work to get set.Clean.
https://scrot.cloud/images/2021/03/26/screen5e30d96a420b07a6.th.pngVery simple, almost empty panel.
Update:
Figured out how to make the panel transparent:
Sans cat.
8bit

There were actually a couple of gaps but I built libxfce4ui without CSD and xfce4-screensaver for bullseye. Anyone let me know if you need a source package for those fixes.
I’ve also got debs but I don’t expect that much trust with OSS.
