Hello from Japan

お久しぶりです
(Translation: It’s been a long time since I met you last time)

I used #! happily.
I am glad in the situation being succeeded by BunsenLabs.

I built a site for Japanese users again:
BunsenLabs Japan ! : ブンゼンラボ ジャパン!
http://bunsenlabs-jp.jimdo.com/

I spend happy time with everybody again. smile

Re: Hello from Japan

BunsenLabs confirmed that I did not include libdvdcss in the ISO.
I needed time to download ISO of BunsenLabs for a long time.
Therefore I put ISO to the Japanese server and want to consider whether I show it as mirror server.
I will have an Asian user including Japan please with this.

If we would announce a mirror from our side, it'd need to be always in sync with our own mirror – that is, it must update or be updated ASAP when we upload new images.

Is it possible to create an auto-syncing mirror?

Re: Hello from Japan

welcome, balloon!

is it normal for japanese computer users to accept an english language interface?
or would bunsenlabs need a japanese translation?

@nobody :
There is OSDN in Japan as a place developing an open source.
It was the site name called "SourceForce.JP" before here:
https://en.osdn.jp/

It is necessary to perform the file maintenance here by manual operation.
But there is the same consultation in other distribution
and intends to ask the OSDN staff this method of settlement.

Reading this made me laugh loudly, thanks and welcome!

I love your username and avatar and the liberal use of exclamation points on your webpage! Also the hover-fade on the hyperlinks, that's very nice.

I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?

Re: Hello from Japan

Hi baloon, welcome to BunsenLabs - it's good to see you back! smile

About translations - in CrunchBang some background preparation was done, which we have imported as-is into BunsenLabs. However, the whole subject of multi-language support has been left as something to be dealt with later...

I will try to make user-interface text strings accessible to translation ( with the $"text" syntax) in future, but I think some cleaning-up will have to be done in bl-welcome and the pipemenu scripts before this will work.

EDIT: And a big thank-you for all the work you've obviously put into the Japanese site. It's magnificent!

I have support of CrunchBang in johnraff and thanks.
When I saw GitHub, it saw johnraff reflected a source.
I decided to support BunsenLabs to see it.

I will perform the support of the locale if I receive the announcement. wink

So the standard Japanese notation for "Bunsen" as in "Bunsen burner" is ブンゼン, although the English word is pronounced as ブンセン?

Re: Hello from Japan

I searched pronunciation of "Bunsen".
As a result, Robert Wilhelm Bunsen and the Bunsen banner were transcribed in "ブンゼン":

https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%96 … A%E3%83%BC
https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%AD … C%E3%83%B3

but it may be used by pronunciation of "ブンセン".
The Japanese reading wants to determine it to spread BunsenLabs.
It seems to be the opportunity when this determines pronunciation of BunsenLabs.
