BL Review on SMLR Podcast

Hi,

I haven't seen anyone else mention it on the forums, but I stumbled on a BL review on one of my subscribed podcasts list - Sunday Morning Linux Review.

Here's a link, if anyone is interested: http://smlr.us/?p=4833/.

It's fairly superficial but generally positive.

Re: BL Review on SMLR Podcast

They liked it, and appreciated the welcome script, menus and configurability. A couple of gripes, but they consider it "clean, efficient and ready for Prime Time". Nice to know smile

cool

Re: BL Review on SMLR Podcast

It's always good to get feedback from people who know nothing about BL, and encouraging that they liked it on the whole.

The old topic of auto-updating app menus came up, along with having to right-click the desktop instead of clicking a button.
(Actually adding a "menu" button to the four launcher icons on the left of the tint2 panel would be quite easy.)

Also noticed that the reviewer expected Dr. Bunsen Honeydew to show up. Of course we were thinking of him when we chose the BunsenLabs name but left any Dr Bunsen images out of the iso because of copyright worries.

Download to listen to later.

Re: BL Review on SMLR Podcast

Maybe it'd be appropriate to add a in-the-press section to the website: Reviews etc by people who are taking a look at it from a more critical point of view. Maybe we could collect a list?

Re: BL Review on SMLR Podcast

I didn't see this thread earlier, damo directed me here because I just posted the pod-cast link in News & Announcements. monkey
https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic.php?id=763

That should suffice for now rather than another sub-forum, unless we get a sudden flood of press, don't you think?

Re: BL Review on SMLR Podcast

So maybe rename the other thread to "BL reviews" or something, and invite links?
