Bunsen with AMD proprietary Graphics driver?

Bunsen with AMD proprietary Graphics driver? I ran the installer and it will not boot graphically afterwords. I uninstalled the graphics driver and graphics are back. I would like GPU performance. AMD R9 270 GPU.

Re: Bunsen with AMD proprietary Graphics driver?

hello redsearch,
the info is a bit thin.
- how did it not work. a little preliminary troubleshooting is recommended before posting.
- how and what did you uninstall, and how exactly are graphics "back" (*)
- search debian wiki on how to install amd proprietary drivers (which you will most probably need for "GPU performance").

(*) for this you might want to post the output of "lspci -k | grep -iA5 vga"

If you want to install the proprietary drivers, follow this guide:
https://wiki.debian.org/ATIProprietary

For the record, the open source ATI drivers are pretty good and use much less memory than the non-free version.

Sounds to me like you forgot to setup your xorg.conf after install. You need to run

aticonfig --initial

after you install the driver.
