I was always completely perplexed by the elitism of most of the distro forums. New users asking for info and getting hammered for one reason or another. And then the forum wonders when "The Year of the Linux Desktop" will arrive.

Good summary, I just squeezed it a bit.

^ not disagreeing, but I'm not adding anything that touts "The Year of the Linux Desktop", even jokingly. Maybe squeeze it a bit more, nore?

Re: BunsenLabs quotes

I agree, that "The year of Linux" (always coming next year) is no more but a bad joke, or not even that. Still, it rises every now and then in those forums, so there must be a handful of people, who take it seriously. Without it, that quote loses it's point. It's fine, I pull back my request.

Ooooh, titties and a child-like face. And a very colourful casino web page...

It's perfect in its way, all down to excessive capitalisation & typos.

damo's answer is nice, too.

Anyhow, yay for the weird, added, pushed.

It's the place where Great Whites arre making a comeback thanks to a new abundance of tasty fat seals and fat tourists. Try a lobster roll if you're up there, it will be expensive but worth it. Then go swimming in the surf, it's refreshing. I assume you're still lean.

I hate the Pats even though I grew up there, but I'm unaware of another kind of football. Did you mean that idiotic game where you have to tie your hands behind your back and hit the ball with your face instead? I swear, only the British and the rest of Europe and the world, you retards. I believe it's called soccer here, as in put a big sock over my head, I need a nap without flops and red cards. Spectator golf, that's it.

All sports are ruined these days, name one that's good. Other than The Isle of Man TT. And rally car events...

Agreed. I've been watching some of the NCAA basketball tournament. They call fouls that aren't fouls, and they don't call some fouls that seem to be blatant. But the big thing is that it has become a three-point shooting contest which, IMO, sucks.

Pete Maravich still holds the all-time NCAA total scoring record, and he never had a three-pointer (they didn't exist, then). Even with all the three-pointers, no one has even started to approach his record.

My favorite basketball quote: "I liked the days when big guys played like big guys." - Charles Barkley

And don't get me started about baseball. They have been ruining it for 30 years, and they seem to try to think up more ways to make it worse every year.

Re: BunsenLabs quotes

^ Basketball, 3 pointer or layup dunk.

Baseball, strikeout or homerun.

Football, run up the middle or screen pass.

We've been seeing these plays for fifty years now. Time for Rollerball.

*Morgan Freeman narratting*

"In fact, there were."

el_k's response to the quote you just added...

"Dude, my bluetooth speaker on Arch reconnects on wake up from sleep without manual configuration."

https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 43#p112843

Sloth, you are savage...

"So how's the new Gnome [mid-life crisis] version?"

https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 50#p112850

el_k with the summary...

"You either use Gnome the way that the ruling developer race has given it to you or you should go sit in the corner and die."

https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 55#p112855

I am in freaking tears of laughter posting these. They don't get less funny from repeat readings. That last one cracks me up every single time.
