Wondering - do we need to provide a 32-bit full size iso? If our CD image is i386, maybe that's enough?

Sounds good to me. 'apt-get install bunsen-meta*' would pull in the missing packages and configs, I think. You could even get all fancy and make it part of bl-welcome if it detects 32 bit, something after PAE detection like "You appear to be running our minimal 32 bit installation, would you like to install the full BunsenLabs package list?" Add a Release Note explaining the change, done.

There's zero chance of a 64bit computer needing a CD install, right?
And the welcome script already does what you describe, based on an entry that the CD iso adds to /etc/bunsen/bunsen_install.
