Hi there everyone!
I am trying to learn a second language and I use my phone to do that but I'd like to use my computer as well if possible. The second language would rarely be used so I'm not looking for a setting that takes a bit of time with the goal of long term change. Is there a way I could use a keyboard shortcut to change languages back and forth?
Secondly, Is there any convenient way to know what the keys are on the keyboard when switched to the second langue? Some kind of screen map perhaps or something else that would keep me from having to memorize the key placement right away?
Thanks for your time!

If you want to display messages, software interfaces etc. in some other language then you need to enable that locale:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales
Then, if you logout (is a reboot necessary?) the dropdown menu at the top right of LightDM's login screen should show the available locales, and you can choose one for that login. Switch back next login if you want, but I'm pretty sure you can't change locales during a session.
Big apps like Firefox and Libreoffice will require you to install the language pack for the new locale too.

There is 'onboard' in repos.
