Sucessfully added Bunsenlabs backports.  You can add or upgrade packages with the command:
    sudo apt-get install  -t stretch-backports <packagename>

Re: [NOTABUG] Error in bl-welcome

Looks correct to me? Version 9.4.2-1 for Helium contains exactly the quoted line, and -t stretch-backports is correct for installing packages from stretch-backports. Our backports are also called stretch-backports.

Edit: See https://www.bunsenlabs.org/repositories … positories.

OK I thought they'd follow the bunsen naming scheme... to avoid possible confusion with official backports, personally I think they ought to.. but that's opinion and subject to individual interpretation.

Re: [NOTABUG] Error in bl-welcome

^When twoion first chose that naming system I wondered too, but I now can see advantages to doing it this way. Our backports might possibly need dependencies from the Debian stretch-backports, which would not be pulled in by '-t helium-backports', unless all the backport dependencies had been re-backported to our repos.

Re: [NOTABUG] Error in bl-welcome

Fair enough, I'm now wondering if the wording in the bl-welcome screen could be revisited though, while it's obviously intentional for sound technical reasons, it is likely to confuse people reading it and lead to posts such as mine above.

Either  some explanation, or even a statement along the lines "No, stretch-backports isn't a mistake."

Yes, that could be added easily enough. Noted, and thanks.
