No, in fact, I used to work for Alcatel-Lucent, but since MS and Nokia parted ways in the cell phone division, Nokia needed a new base. So they bought Alcatel-Lucent... Hence I now work for Nokia.  big_smile

Correct. Nokia has been doing cellphone networks for decades and it sold off its rubber division (tyres now named Nokian) 10--15 years ago. Back then Nokia was the only serious competitor to the Swedish telecom company Ericsson for making GSM/Edge basestations.

Using python to connect to OLEDB then export data to SQLite, where it will be accessible via ODBC.

Coding a command-line RPG game in Python with heavy inspiration coming from The Elder Scroll titles. Maybe once I build a GUI it will be similar to TES I and TES II smile.

Moving from one partition to another of the same machine. #! Waldorf to BL Hydrogen. Most of the data is on a shared "data" partition anyway, so it should all be very very simple, but it's just like moving house. All those things you use every day are hidden away somewhere, or lost...

Planning a sump pump replacement (got the new pump with battery backup, need to figure out how to install it), installing 4 sets of new miniblinds, the normal chores in the yard associated with spring, and...still looking for a job.    sad

Re: What are you working on right now?

@KrunchTime:  Basement flooding a big problem in your area?  Regarding the battery backup, I think that's imperative; if there's a risk of flooding, there's a greater risk of power failure (assuming overhead power lines vs. underground).

Two things at the moment. About to pull the trigger on buying a new car, so I'm doing some research and bemoaning the incoming monthly payments of new car ownership.

Also practicing my regex... and bemoaning how there should be just 1 single universal standard of syntax... (ahh the joys of pipe dreaming...)

a friend of mine always used to say:
"i'd never buy a new car. the simple act of buying it reduces its value by 20%."
the actual percentage might vary, but i think he has a point.

Congrats! What language are you starting with?  After I get Bash scripting down to where I can feel comfortable looking at and breaking down scripts and understand them line by line, I think I"m going to teach myself C ... Been putting it off too long.
