[SOLVED] Conky max height in horizontal conky

Hello there,

I want my conky to be horizontal as here:

Screenshot_2018-11-10_16-02-17.th.png

And I would like the maximum height of the conky to be at X pixels so when I snap windows to top they snap just under the conky. Currently these snap quite far from conky:

Any idea? I have tried adding maximum_height = 40 but no happiness.

I usually set conky transparency off so I can see exactly where the window is. Then adjust the geometry accordingly. Don't forget that whitespace in the conkyrc can make the window bigger.

Yeah, but the problem is I cannot change max height. There simply is no line in conky config with it.

Try adding this

minimum_size 560 5
maximum_width 223

Mess around with the second variable there in the minimum_size line.

This is my conky. When I added minimum_size conky stopped working. I inserted the required maximum_height - wouldn't do anything.

EDIT. OK Solved - Damo's suggestion was spot on. I disabled the transparency and lo and behold - noticed the extra sloppy lines. It's good now and fixed.

Thanks all.
