I want to point dropbox to a different partition (resolved)

Hi

I need to move my dropbox to an ext4 partition, but not having much success.

I am currently booting dual OS, on an aged lenovo laptop.

Bunsenlabs / and /home on sda1 ext3

LXDE /                 on sda2 ext3

LXDE /home             on sda3 ext4

Swap                   on sda4 swap

I don't use the LXDE much anymore, but don't really want to do a clean install and re partition at the moment.
I just use the LXDE /home as file/data storage and find it  easily accessible mounted as lxde  in the BL filesystem  with a line in the fstab file using its UUID address.

I now need to move my  dropbox from BL's ext3 to  an ext4 partition, but not getting any success when trying to point dropbox with its preferences-sync-move options.
I've tried the obvious address /home/william/lxde but still get the warning about needing an ext4 file system clearly I am doing something wrong there, dropbox not seeing the destination ext4 file system. I've checked on dropbox help but can't find an answer to my particular problem.

I would be glad of any pointers/suggestions as to how I might resolve this issue.

...all sorted needed to enter the full new address, I got confused, user names on both  OS
quite similar, syncing merrily now..

Try copying the Dropbox directory to where you want it, then leave a link to it.

ln -s /path/to/Dropbox Dropbox
