Re: blackview bv9000 pro

Pretty expensive for an offbrand smartphone from an very minor Hong Kong brand , here's the manufacturer's page.

They seem to put a lot of effort into branding this phone as rugged and durable, though from a technical side, the phone launches new with Android 7 (almost 2 Android releases behind), and I expect security patch support to be subpar or non-existant. They also seem to run a modified Android ROM that may or may not be a data snooping agent and send all your contacts to China. I wouldn't trust the stock software.

Over at XDA Developers, there are some people who are preparing root and custom ROMs for this manufacturer's devices, so you may be able to get a clean Android nevertheless. For qualified opinions, I suggest you look over there…

I guess if IP68 certification is that important to you you could get one, but IP68 phones are available from some companies that have a better track record in the phone business, though probably more expensive, like some phones from Samsung's Galaxy series, Sony's Xperia series and some recent of Apple's Iphones.
