Hello everybody,
I'm planning to buy a second hand PC. I will try to turn my question in a reusable fashion :
Is there a way I can forecast if the hardware will be compatible with Bunsenlabs ?
Factually it is a :
HP Pavilion G5429fr i5
Intel Core i5-2400S
8 Gb DDR3
HDD SATA 1 To 3Gb/s (7 200 tr/min)
ATI Radeon HD 6450

Looks to me like it should be fine with Helium out of the box, with the possible exception of your unlisted wi-fi hardware.

Ok, that's fine by me, I'm wired ! Thanks for your advice.

That i5 is already older (as a design), this should be about 2012 hardware, so it should run fine with Helium/Debian 9. Likewise, the HD6450 graphics card should work OK with the open source "radeon" driver. Remember to check and self-test the hard disk health if you receive a used hard drive (better yet, in any case) using smartmontools.

Thanks for your advice, hoya-hoya. I will, definitely.

FYI: the hardware compatibility for bunsenlabs should be 100% the same as for debian stable.
