This is still the only operating system in which I can get ranger image previews to work roll

Has anybody actually had the previews working under Arch?

Works out of the box on ArchLabs with w3m as the viewer, png images too  -

arch_ranger.th.png

bit wonky in termite, much better with urxvt.

or are you referring to some other image viewing capability in ranger?

Dobbie, which fonts are you showing there (GTK, wm and terminal)?

Really? Good work Dobbie & co! big_smile

@Dobbie, how did you do that?

I can't get w3m itself to display images in my Arch box so the ranger previews don't work either sad

@nore:  IBM Plex all over except for the terminal which is Monaco.

@HoaS: We didn't do anything special, URXVT plays nicest with Neofetch and images.  Termite is okay but once you change windows the image disappears.  I just stick with URXVT.

welcome wink

It seems you have to keep up with ranger updates and manually update your .config/ranger/ [files] from time to time..

Re: November 2017 Screenshot Thread

Void linux using cwm, pcmanfm, xinitrc, tint2 15.3, current mksh & chromium. I did a net install to logical partition with the x86-64 musl live iso. Running chromium its using 190 MB total, only 1 tab open on BL forums. yikes  Edit: more info here: https://wiki.voidlinux.eu/Musl - it runs the nouveau driver fine on my machine and this is definitely a great choice for a light weight linux distro imo. Kudos to the void team, what a job well done....

@LLoyd   sure! I made this picture with my mobile and used the plugin in GIMP that @nore mentions above (thanks nore!). It shows the terminus of the Aletsch glacier in the Alps.

We have a screenfetch package for BunsenLabs that will show our logo when you run it:

Either install the above .deb or add our "jessie-backports" repository and `apt-get` it  wink
