Issue Posting Messages to the Forums Using Qupzilla

I get the following error when I attempt to preview or submit a reply to a forum thread:

Bad HTTP_REFERER. You were referred to this page from an unauthorized source. If the problem persists please make sure that 'Base URL' is correctly set in Admin/Options and that you are visiting the forum by navigating to that URL. More information regarding the referrer check can be found in the FluxBB documentation.

nobody would have to address this, but he's buried until mid-November. Best to stick with another browser at least till then.

I don't care what you do at home. Would you care to explain?

Thank you for the reply, hhh.  I agree with your suggestion about using a different browser; not a deal breaker.

Re: Issue Posting Messages to the Forums Using Qupzilla

KrunchTime, i remember seeing similar messages when using qupzilla.
it comes with relatively strict privacy/security settings by default.
you should go into the preferences menu and see what you can change, helped in my case.
i still have an "unrestricted" profile, if you don't find it your self i can take a look there (i'm not using qupzilla much).

@ohnonot:  I don't believe I've ever seen such messages, and I know I've used Qupzilla on the CrunchBang forums in the past without issue.  I'll take a look at the preferences though.  Thank you for your input.

KrunchTime; For what it's worth, I too have had similar experiences with qupzilla. It's unfortunate because I really enjoyed it as a second browser and lighter alternative to Chrome (which I need occupationally). Although I played around in 'preferences', I was unable to resolve the trouble I was having. It also on occasion rendered (for the lack of a better term) some pages oddly.

i cannot find anymore what i promised earlier, but the "Browsing" and "privacy" tabs deserve some extra scrutiny.
note that sending referer headers is disabled by default, and the certificate manager has another "settings" tab.

i'm not saying it is a direct solution to op's problem, but that is where qupzillas settings might hamper mainstream browsing.

ohnonot, I'm sure you're right and the solution is in there somewhere. When not at work, I've the attention span of a boiled turnip and probably glossed right over it.  smile

Might we need a separate subforum for forum-specific issues?

Yes, and where forum "stuff" can be discussed.

Re: Issue Posting Messages to the Forums Using Qupzilla

As you can see we've done some slight reorganization and you can use this Basic Help sub-forum for forum issues.

Re: Issue Posting Messages to the Forums Using Qupzilla

@dolly:  My apologies for the late reply.  I'd kind of forgotten about this thread.  I haven't really taken the time to look at the Qupzilla settings.  I use enough browsers (Chromium, Firefox, Midori, Qupzilla, Vivaldi, Xombrero) that not being able to use one of them for the forums isn't a big issue for me.
