Re: ArchLabs Linux

Do not fear conky lovers, it is there. Just that it is commented out by default in the autostart file. Yes, I noticed that it was quite a big slimming of the iso. Not only shaved legs, in fact it seems more like a bodyshave!  cool

Re: ArchLabs Linux

Bought a ThinkPad, installing ArchLabs. Right now it's downloading all the extras, still in the installer. I'm wondering how it will work with the UEFI and W10 dual boot. Had quite a few problems with Pop_OS which I dropped in right after unpacking the laptop. Will update.

Ok, it is fully working. EFI also installed successfully alongside the WBM. One problem so far - I am going through config files and I am unable to find the config files pertaining to the tint (I don't think it's BL's tint... it's something new) [bar at the top] as I have dual batteries and it keeps showing status of one battery only.

Also, the 1/2/3/4 in the top left corner does not correspond to the apps but to the desktops.

Thanks

Re: ArchLabs Linux

@cherkie, the top bar is Polybar. You will need to manually configure the module to suit dual batteries.

Re: ArchLabs Linux

Polybar, ok thanks! I will dig into everything polybar related then... if the call of BL won't pull me back to the light side.

Re: ArchLabs Linux

Working hard on a new release.  Getting close to release time.  New themes, updated icons and a refresh of the base.

Gonna be good.

I like what's cooking and plan to try out ArchLabs on a spare SSD I have so that I can scratch that Arch itch again smile

Good to hear. You shouldn't have to wait too long.

Re: ArchLabs Linux

Couldn't wait to try ArchLabs Linux. Except I need more ram for this old box, which came in last night. Whoo Hoo!

Read everything I could find on AL to get ready. Distrowatch has a review, and nice things to say.
I see the The Calamares system installer has been replaced with ALI. Really liked the granularity of ALI, to get just the system I wanted. Waiting for the install to finish, pacman eating dots is nice. smile Whoo Hoo! Almost done, now installing GRUB.

Yes and no.  Nate got the itch again and made a return!  Plus I have had a couple of additions to the team.

Re: ArchLabs Linux

Still chipping away are a release. I didn't think that we would get anything out this year but it's looking more likely a release in the next day or two.

Re: ArchLabs Linux

Run into a problem trying to install:

/in sda11, /home in sda12, swap in sdb9.
In this pic one can see I've selected, /, and swap.

partitions_web.th.jpg

But when offered to add additional partitions, it doesn't list sda12 for /home:

additional_web.th.jpg

Thoughts? TIA
