[SOLVED]Nothing happens after installation of [32bit Deuterium]

Hello, so as the title says, nothing is happening after the installation of 32bit Deuterium. I used Rufus DD image to get the iso onto a USB (8GB) then I booted it up and using the graphical install installed it onto another USB (4GB) (P.S. Tried installing onto both USBs and still doesn't work), after I boot from the usb, all I get is a blinking '_' sign and no signs of life. Any help?

Did you try switching to a TTY with <Ctrl>+<Alt>+F3?

Sounds like you need to disable kernel modesetting for your video card.

See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ke … odesetting & https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ke … eters#GRUB for the general method, post back if you need more guidance.

I did try <Ctrl>+<Alt>+F3 and nothing happened. Also, where am I supposed to set the options? It doesn't load GRUB at all.

Re: [SOLVED]Nothing happens after installation of [32bit Deuterium]

Does the "live" environment on the ISO image work?

EDIT: were there any errors during the installation process?

I don't believe there were any errors during the installation and yes, the live environment works fine, however after the installation where it tells you to remove the installation media, after clicking continue and when the removing live-packages (or something) comes on it takes a longer time than in any video I watched about installing bunsen I thought that I missed some part of the installation by watching and this might be of some worth.

I used Rufus DD image

Although you seem to have used the correct option with Rufus, I have answered so many problem threads caused by that very (crap) tool that I am going to suggest re-installing with a fresh image burned with either `dd`/`cp`/`cat` [1] or USBWriter:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/usbwriter/

[1] If you only have access to Windows then install the Subsystem for Linux to be able to use these commands:

Have you tried with a different USB stick? Some sticks are rather dicey when using to boot from.

Re: [SOLVED]Nothing happens after installation of [32bit Deuterium]

[SOLUTION]
So after using many different tools of burning and iso to my USB with no luck, I figured out what I was doing wrong and it's of course completely my fault. The problem was that I failed to install GRUB. When the installer said that it detected 1 more OS on the HDD and asked if I wanted to add grub to the MBR I clicked 'No' thinking that it wanted to install it to the HDD and not my USB where I'm installing bunsen to. After clicking 'No' I was greeted with the option to select a drive on where to install grub and this all made sense in my mind thinking that I just pressed no to be able to specify a drive and I was wrong. ||| So to make it clear, my issue was that there was no bootloader to load bunsen and therefore I got the blinking '_' sign. The fix was to select 'Yes' when asked if I wanted to install GRUB to the MBR. ||| P.S. I really think the devs should add a line the the grub installation part about something like "You will be able to specify the installation drive on the next page" or something along those lines. OK, I'll edit the title. PS if there is a next time, you can do it yourself by editing your first post wink

Moving thread, because it isn't a "bug" wink
