Hi BL,
I need help diagnosing an error box that popped up in a gtk popup box.
It said their was something wrong with adode pepperflash and to use journalctl to see its error but i did not see the rest of the message before it disapeared and exactly what command to use with journalctl. Is their a way to invoke that message again? The message box is similar to when you see a network connected or disconnected box appear in the top right of screen. I am using BL latest updated version on my laptop.
If i use journalctl in the terminal it says this:No journal files were found.
??

you can use journalctl as a command as it is.
by default is displays messages since last boot i think.
it can be filtered with command line options or piping it through grep.
however! i think i remember that on debian, one has to enable the normal user to use it without sudo. maybe add yourself to the systemd group?

Thanks ohnotnot, now member of systemd-journal

^ it's cut off at the right edge. please use a command option to journalctl to not do that.

Thank you for that report.
URLError: Bad URL or certs path?
It looks as if something has gone wrong with the script that checks the Adobe flash versions. Maybe the web page has changed. Just for a check, can you run this code in a terminal and post back the output?
update-bunsen-pepperflash --status
Meanwhile, I'll have a look at the script at this end.
BTW you are using the standard BunsenLabs hydrogen on Debian Jessie, aren't you? If it's the experimental helium-dev install on Stretch, then I'm afraid all bets are off.

I have fixed up the journalctl output to not cuttoff the right edge.
Thanks for taking a look at this.
John here is the status.
sc@debian:~$ update-bunsen-pepperflash --status

You already have the newest version.
I pretty sure i am not using the helium experimental install, is their a way to check that. Neofetch says the following...

No, that's the regular BL, and the pepperflash script seems to be working OK there. I wonder if the network was not yet up when the auto-run of the script took place?
Let's wait and see if the error popup happens again next time you boot up.

I rebooted and did not recieve that message. Perhaps you are right John, the internet was not connected when that error message popped up originally. Ill keep an eye on it over reboots.
Thanks for your help.
