hi, is there any program for proxy for linux? I know you can change the proxy settings through my browser but then I have to keep on looking for new proxies through google. I remember when I used to use windows they had some programs that automatically switched my proxy settings, there got be something similar for linux settings right?

And there are so many options I dont even know where to start. Is there one that you could recommend, that's easy for noobs like me? I have no clue on which one I should use and the ones I downloaded I have no idea on how to even set them up. I tried terminal and I dont know how to type in any command ....

Do you know if 6tunnel is the application you actually need? Have you tried editing the proxy tab in the network manager? (R-click the network icon and "Edit Connections")
..... I tried terminal and I dont know how to type in any command ....
Perhaps you should learn some terminal basics first then? And do some research into how to use a proxy (cos I know nothing about it myself!)
Instructions for 6tunnel can be found with the command
man 6tunnel

You can enter your Standard Proxy String directly into the file at /etc/apt/apt.conf to make APT use it:
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions … -on-debian
The environmental variables have to be set for other programs, this guide is for Arch but can be applied to BunsenLabs:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/pr … _variables
EDIT: to set environmental variables in BunsenLabs, add the export lines to ~/.xsessionrc
Also, 6tunnel doesn't do what you want

That's the thing, I have no clue on how to use proxy in linux. Back when I was using windows, I used something called proxyswitch and it just automatically searched for proxies, and then set me to the one that was working, and I was hoping to find something similar in linux. I mean, I know how to change my proxy manually, by going through my browser's setting and trying all the possible proxies I googled, but that's very slow ...
So, I'm guessing my question is "I am looking for a proxy program that can automatically switch proxies for me, and I am not looking to set up a proxy by myself on linux."

opera version?

Opera VPN is a service provided by SurfEasy. I used it a year ago, and it was really great. I've been surprised seeing that there are problems using it. You don’t have to download VPN extensions to activate it. Just update to Opera 40 and follow the steps:
1. Go to the Opera menu and select Preferences.
2. Select Privacy & security and enable the VPN.

How do I update to Opera 40?
How did you install Opera?
If you followed the recommended instructions from https://wiki.debian.org/Opera then I think a simple `sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade` should do it.
FWIW, the stable version of Opera is 44.something.

Well my opera comes pre-installed with bunsenlab. I tried sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade several times but it didn't to update to the newest opera. Anyway, it works now b/c I re-installed opera from the website. Thank you!

Well, it isn't pre-installed, so you must have installed it from the menu. And BL uses Debian Stable sources, so you would never get the "latest" version with an update/upgrade.

I got it from http://www.opera.com/ and installed their provided DEB package. I also wanted to point out to anyone looking to use Opera for its built-in proxy software just be ware of the points brought up in these articles.
https://www.perfect-privacy.com/blog/20 … -real-vpn/
https://www.helpnetsecurity.com/2016/04 … vpn-proxy/
Its a proxy of sorts, but only the regular browsing in Opera is routed through the proxy. My understanding is that WebRTC and plugin data is not routed. Also the rest of the traffic originating from your device would not be routed either. Keep in mind that your usage and other data is most likely recorded by Opera, for the purposes of marketing/advertising.
I may be slow, but I have the best of intentions.
