Can't get out of lockscreen (Solved)

Just installed BunsenLabs on a new laptop, beyond some configuration problem (missing non free libs I ll have to install for wi fi), it work fine.

After a bit of time, the screen locked, so far everything's normal.

However, the lock screen is just black with a white `_` character, and the keyboard seems to not respond to anything.

Tried to switch terminal, no dice.

So far, the only thing I could do is to force power off the computer, and reboot it, which is not handy.

While searching, the only result I get are for custom configuration of light-locker, or scripts from #!. Since I just installed it and got the problem while going through the `bl-welcome` script, I highly doubt it is the same problem.

Is it normal? And if so how do I unlock? If not, is just disabling light-locker enought in the meantime?

Sounds like a graphics issue. New hardware may require a backported kernel or graphics stack. Start your reading here, perhaps: https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic.php?id=2242

There is also an option in the bl-welcome script to replace light-locker.

Possible, althought seeing the specs I initially dismissed that idea, will investigate.

Re: Can't get out of lockscreen (Solved)

So, for anybody that can help:

Full config: http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00217753.html

Intel Pentium 4405U (Dual-Core 2.1 GHz - Cache 2 Mo)
Intel HD Graphics 510

Linux version 3.16.0-4-amd64

Couldn't find anything notable or related to the graphic chipset in lshw.

Updated xserver-xorg-core, xserver-xorg-video-intel and firmware-misc-nonfree to jessie-backport.

Also tried to configure grub with or without nomodeset, no dice either.

No dice, still have the same issue. Definitely seems to be related to the graphic chipset, since the issue arise while trying to open new terminals.

The intel hd graphics 510 drivers seems to be supported in kernel starting 4.3, so maybe I should update that to unstable (4.9)?

You need the backported kernel as well.

No, use the jessie-backports repository, this sort of situation is exactly why Debian offer that.

Also, please read https://wiki.debian.org/DontBreakDebian … nkenDebian

Re: Can't get out of lockscreen (Solved)

Updating the kernel with the jessie-backports one worked wonder. It messed up my network configuration on wlan0, but setting NetworkManager to manage it solved the problem.

I still have the problem when going out of hibernation, but not hibernating is way easier than not suspending or shutting down. Solved for me, thanks @BLenderer and @Head_on_a_Stick smile
