KMS is not enough. You still need to be root when accessing /dev/video*. Or get a fd from a process running as root.

And, encrypting or unencrypting with gpa only requires you to enter your password once, not each time for each file as has been in the past. YAY!!!!

I'm not sure what package it is, but you should now receive an error message when typing in the wrong password for gksudo. I'm assuming this made it to Stretch because it's been in Unstable for quite awhile.

^confirmed - It puts up the password window again with an error message. I didn't test how many times it would do this, in case it cancelled my sudo privileges.

The free (as in speech) ATI Debian wiki page has been updated recently (it looks official too) and it now states that:
Debian Stretch comes with the latest MESA version which supports DRI Offloading.
https://wiki.debian.org/AtiHowTo#Debian … testing.29
This allows the use of discrete AMD graphics cards, just like Bumblebee but better

The new Vulkan graphics API is now supported under Debian stretch:

Debian jessie (and BL-²H) can use the version in backports
CS:GO will be ported, apparently... *rubs hands with glee*

^ Nice. I have been looking forward to this.

Couple of things I've seen yesterday, hope it's related to the topic.
network-manager-openvpn-gnome is so obsolete in jessie (0.9)that I can't connect to some VPNs, so stretch is a must in this case (1.2.8-2).
Filezilla also has many bug fixed in stretch, for example DNS resolution under VPN doesn't work properly under jessie version.

Just found this one, new for stretch:
https://packages.debian.org/stretch/debootstick
debootstick is used to generate a bootable image from a Debian or Ubuntu chroot environment (such as one generated with debootstrap, docker export, etc.). This image should then be copied to a USB stick or disk and used to boot any amd64 machine (BIOS- or UEFI-based). The embedded system is ready to be started live (no installation procedure needed), and is fully upgradeable (kernel and bootloader included).

^Looks very interesting. I must have a play with that. Thanks!
