I'm liking the switch away from the Intel DDX driver (xserver-xorg-video-intel) towards Xorg's build-in modesetting driver using the generic Glamor acceleration method for all the 2D stuff — I am finally tear-free with no help from special driver options or compton \o/
All of the new, shiny options for systemd are good as well — stretch now has the interface-specific wpa_supplicant@.service systemd unit file needed for wireless connections with systemd-networkd.
My favorite partitioning tool, gdisk, is now not a beta version, which is nice.
And of course the other massive version bumps are good too

live-build is much newer, and now seems to support EFI boot.

I just downloaded the iso of the Bunsenlabs Stretch live build w/installer. I'm liking the fact that it comes with the Mem. Diagnostic tool! Was this a Stretch add on or something for bunsen?

Sweet, well played...I've always been a fan and user of mem test. I thope it sticks around for the upcoming official helium. I saw that it's on the Deuterium -Stretch iso.
I think we need an entry for an entry for a game of Centipede though on the boot menu. who's with me??

To be clear, it's a BL/jessie ISO built using live-build from stretch, giving it EFI support. That idea, along with the memtest entry and the build itself were all care of @johnraff.

Grazi senor!
On topic, I like that it's what I expected it to be after the success of jessie... a drama-free dist-upgrade and sane upgrades thanks to an outstanding package management system and smart developer decisions, a rock solid desktop, great hardware support, a huge repo, I've up-ported a jessie package and ported some Ubuntu ones... A stable, flexible OS that's dependable in use and fun to tweak.

Agreed hhh! Also, this is just semantics, but once we go to Stretch fully, will Jessie backports be needed or used? Or will all ports to Stretch be from Stretch-Backports?

Why not go to the source? https://backports.debian.org/
Backports are packages taken from the next Debian release (called "testing"), adjusted and recompiled for usage on Debian stable. Because the package is also present in the next Debian release, you can easily upgrade your stable+backports system once the next Debian release comes out.
So jessie-backports made from the current Stretch/Testing will be redundant for the future Stretch/Stable.

^ Also note that Greybird and Blackbird are there.
What a shame that Arc uses all those image files for its gtk2 assets.

The upgraded kernel and graphics drivers in stretch mean that Plymouth works now on my hardware, whereas in jessie it left artifacts all over my screen. I know many here prefer no boot splash and, often, no DM, but I like them as it makes me feel like I have a more polished OS (at the expense of some minor bloat).

Plymouth? Hmm... I used to enjoy that bit of eye candy back in #! Statler (was it?) and might give it a try again if it's settled down now. Though, it's true that, with systemd and modern hardware, the time you'd get to enjoy the Plymouth splash would be pretty short... unless Plymouth lengthened the bootup time to let you appreciate its beauty more...
