I've searched the forums here, the Crunchbang forums, and via a search engine and I wasn't able to find anything about an issue I'm having. I can be typing and all of sudden, I get no response for a second or so. At the same time, my trackpad becomes unresponsive. The issue appears to be app-agnostic; i.e. it can happen in any app. It's more of an annoyance than anything else.

I found some info using:
Search for:
unix|linux intermittent keyboard and trackball freeze
Don't know if that helps.

^Thank you, Sector11. I'll give it a try. I previously searched using the terms keyboard freeze linux, typing freeze linux, keyboard delay linux, and typing delay linux and came up empty-handed.

Picked up that "unix|linx" start for searching over at LinuxQuestions. Works well.
Good luck.

I've seen this, too, and unfortunately can't offer any help. My real motive in replying is to subscribe for the sake of following this topic.
@Sector11: Using your search terms, I really didn't see anything that stood out to me.
@HoaS: Maybe, but what are the chances that a memory issue exists on two different machines?
@3600seconds: You don't need to comment to follow a thread. At the bottom right of every thread is a Subscribe to this topic link.
I thought I saw a thread here or over on the !# forums about Firefox possibly causing this, but I'm not using Firefox when it happens.

Interesting Did you see any of these:
Out of the top 6 hits (one was OSX)

^ Thank you for the links. Not sure if I saw any of those. I did look through a few pages of hits.
I've looked at all of the links you've provided and one possible suspect, disabling typing when using the touchpad, might be an issue, but then I'd have to disable that, which means I'm back to accidentally hitting keys when using the touchpad. I am not using that feature on my desktop, though, so why it's happening on my desktop is still a mystery.

^ Which only goes to show that different folks, in different locations, searching for the same thing, come up with different results.
What 'they' 'think' you want I'm a desktop only guy so there is no way I can help further.
Well, maybe not. Lets try the 'subject title': » unix|linux Random Keyboard and Trackpad Freezing

http://askubuntu.com/questions/767804/k … -wont-work

Three new ones. Hope one helps.
BTW: What laptop, that might narrow things down.

^ I also used StartPage; not sure if that would make a difference.
Lappie: ASUS Zenbook UX303LA
The second link might be worth looking into more. At this point without really knowing what the real issue is, I'm hesistant to start changing things. It also happens so sporadically, that it would be difficult to determine if any changes actually resolve the issue. Thank you for your help.

In the time it took you to type that out you could have issued the memtest command that would let you know with 100% certainty...
It is rather rude to dismiss suggestions out of hand without even trying them, in my opinion.
