Re: ISO building notes

I just checked with grep, and there's no reference to "Deuterium" anywhere in the live-build configs for the latest isos. They still claim to be Bunsen Hydrogen.
Relevant settings:

--distribution bunsen-hydrogen \
--parent-distribution jessie \
--iso-application BunsenLabs \
--iso-publisher 'BunsenLabs Linux; https://www.bunsenlabs.org/; admin@bunsenlabs.org' \
--iso-volume 'BUNSENLABS_HYDROGEN' \

@Sector11, no there's no need to do a complete reinstall - just updating the packages will be enough. Only personal files in $HOME will be untouched (of course) so you could compare with /usr/share/bunsen/skel to see if there's anything you want to add.

I've added a link to the Release Notes to @hhh's OP.

thanks for updating https://www.bunsenlabs.org/news.html

The website looks incredible on my phone, I want to lick it. I love your content, especially the phrase "no limit to customization". smile And the slideshow rocks.

I think John wrote parts of the front page. Though of course I'm glad you like it smile

I don't remember writing that. cool

Also, the mechanisms he built a little while ago automatically update the news page and RSS feed from the announcements forum OPs, right? cool cool

Re: ISO building notes

Thanks for the post, John.

Should bl-exit be mentioned in that thread?

Thanks for your post too, HOAS!

Re: ISO building notes

Does neofetch identify the release as Deuterium? That would be nice, I think.

Re: ISO building notes

bl-exit interesting point. It's mentioned under bunsen-utilities (of which it's part atm) in the Release Notes, but they were written in January, before we decided to revert to the old GUI. Maybe best to edit the release notes OP?

(I just added "optional" to "enhanced GUI".)

alternatives to a VM

The simplest to use is systemd-nspawn, I do all my packaging with that.

Just got round to trying that, and yes it's cool

Easier than chroot, faster than a VM... I see some fun-filled days ahead. Thanks for the tip!

(Search the forum for "systemd-nspawn" to see many useful posts, many by HOAS, going back some time.)
