Re: January 2017 Screenshots

^ +1 smile

@mi: is that urxvt?

I think your letterSpace is too close, I had to change mine from -2 to 0 to get my Fantasque Sans Mono font working correctly:

2017-01-12-115711_1920x1080_scrot.th.png

I like to use ponysay to test the font alignment — the colour blocks will either overlap or leave a gap unless the configuration is correct glasses

Also, I think I need to get out more... big_smile

EDIT: changed my mind, using URxvt.letterSpace = -1 now hmm

Re: January 2017 Screenshots

I really like bunsenlabs....Have modded bunsenlabs with various themes but had to come back to the original setup, cant be beat. Maybe some Numix additions to the window panels/borders but that would be about it. I like the Numix flat theming, does not seem available in the Debian Jessie Repo's?

Conky belongs to http://samirkahvedzic.deviantart.com/ar … -329275044 I just changed the date values for my preferences.

Im no good at tint2 but will be trying to figure it all out in the future, until then im using Xfce4 panel in a minimalist way.

Because it is just a GTK theme, it is actually "safe" to install the .deb file from stretch:

http://httpredir.debian.org/debian/pool … -1_all.deb

Use gdebi to install it wink

2017-01-12-133213_1920x1080_scrot.th.png

Also, have you seen https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic.php?id=1536?

EDIT: ignore the slight border artefacts in my scrot, my openbox has rounded corners and the Numix themerc needs tweaking to accommodate this glasses

EDIT2: my Numix desktop:

screenFetch-2017-01-12_14-41-10.th.png

The tint2rc is messy but it works for me:

https://gist.github.com/Head-on-a-Stick … c2109f9736

The underline borders requires the newer version of tint2 that is available from the BunsenLabs backports repository:

https://www.bunsenlabs.org/repoidx.html … orts-tint2

Re: January 2017 Screenshots

Merci vielmal! Thanks guys.

@HoaS: if you wouldn't have mentioned I might never have noticed it.. ops
It is urxvt! The letterSpace was set to -2. I must say that I like it compact. Now I noticed though the W overlapping/melting with the M, e.g.
I've set it to -1. Thanks for the tip! smile

Re: January 2017 Screenshots

Thanks for your help HoaS, i got the Numix theme smile

Im using the xfce panel so couldnt fix that network systray panel icon as described in the link but i will try and get around to figuring out tint2 over the weekend. I did find if i played around with sizing of the system tray network icon (set it to 24px out of a maximum of 64) in xfce4 panel it lost the black background but then the icon itself lost its color or went black, but the sizing now looks correct and no black background, bit weird. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of where to get that updated tint2 as well. Coming from using Arch to Debian is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to finding the right packages, im learning both now and thinking of setting up dual boot Bunsenlabs and pure Arch installs side by side, anyhow im going OT now.....

Cheers
Steve

Helium wallpaper WIPs, using the feel of Debian Stretch "softwaves". The BL flame is @ututo's bl-infinity logo.

Debian colours:

Bunsenlabs grey style:

...and putting it through the Desaturate->Color to Gray process in GIMP produced this remarkable result smile

EDIT: the whole thing works beautifully except for the touchpad scrolling, the switch to libinput has changed the coasting algorithm and there is no userspace tuning knob sad

Re: January 2017 Screenshots

Some improvement to the "2nd-ary transparent terminal" idea, now featuring urxvt
and I took the time to configure weechat:
weechat.th.png
p.s. In weechat can't find a good option to disable colors, so this is alt+l mode.

@dobbie Thanks.  Good to be back on Linux.  Like what you've been doing with Arch and OB.
