[SOLVED] is `dist-upgrade` safe to use with backports?

If I only accepted jessie-backport in welcome script to install power manager (as suggested) it will be safe and stable to use this command ?

Re: [SOLVED] is `dist-upgrade` safe to use with backports?

Yes but you will very rarely have to actually use it.

If you run plain old `apt-get upgrade` then you can check the output to see if there are any "Packages left un-upgraded" -- this is the only time that `apt-get dist-upgrade` will be needed.

Both the official and the BunsenLabs jessie-backports repositories are "safe" to use in BunsenLabs, notwithstanding any new bugs or vulnerabilities that may be introduced by the new package versions.

Don't worry, I think this thread is about backports so it's slightly different wink

I have taken the liberty of changing the title slightly and marked the thread [SOLVED]
