a lightweight browser that integrates well in bunsenlabs?
Offline
Only Chromium or Iceweasel (or Firefox from the Debian Mozilla team) are recommended as browsers in BunsenLabs.
All other browsers in the repositories are not secure and should not be used against untrusted websites.
See https://www.debian.org/releases/stable/ … r-security
I would recommend starting Chromium with:
chromium --single-process
This will stop Chromium launching a new instance for each tab and will reduce memory usage significantly.

No, not in Debian stable or BunsenLabs.

iceweasel --single-process also works with iceweasel?

If you want to know the possibilities for commands, then use 'man':
man iceweasel
or
iceweasel --help
It is a lot quicker than posting the question here
NB Iceweasel is a completely different application, so the command usage is also different. AFAICS there isn't a direct equivalent command.

I'm not sure, I got the Chromium tip from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ch … and_tricks so perhaps there is something here:

Wait ... does that mean that w3m is also unsafe?

If you want a light browser then try Roaster. https://github.com/DebianJoe/roaster
It has of course some dependencies as webkit and python-webkit, but the whole browser is only ca. 700 lines of code.
It doen't store cookies, passwords etc, but has tabs and menus, and shortcut support.

I guess this includes Roaster besides pywebkit is not explicitly mentioned
Therefore, browsers built upon the webkit, qtwebkit and khtml engines are included in Jessie, but not covered by security support. These browsers should not be used against untrusted websites.
It also allows javascript globally as default, which is not the best secure browsing practice either, but that affects most browsers defaults anyway.

That is a good question
The remarks in the Debian jessie release notes refer to the rendering engine used by the browser, in particular the webkit engine which is updated regularly upstream but not in Debian, thus Debian's packages develop vulnerabilities.
However, w3m is a command-line browser so does not have a rendering engine and so I think it is "safe" to use.
Which sites do you browse with w3m?

Lots ... examples:
previewsworld.com
videoeta.com
twitter.com
you get the idea
I use it to be a "distraction-less" browser ... and sometimes because I want to feel 1337.
Also when I'm making shownotes for the podcast I help produce it's a great way to get at the text content of pages w/o all the images and fluff.

Just to add to the above, I've seen screenshots of people using w3m to browse the #! forums; I'm sure it's adequate for BL as well. O:)

@Sector11: If you install w3m-img and use w3m in xterm or urxvt, it will even show images.
