Sorry, I was enraptured with joy at the volumeicon fix, wishfull thinking - that it would fix nm-applet. Nevertheless, do each of the above methodologies complement each other? Can I use both at the same time?

Unless I'm missing something, you never described what your nm-applet issue was jale?

Sorry, this thread is about volti and xfce4-volumed replaced with volumeicon, it was my incorrect assumption that this would fix nm-applet. (But since you ask - it just disappears when toggle-off a wi-fi connection by clicking on it's place inside tint2 systray?)

@jalexander9 if your problem persists, could you start a new topic for it?

@xaos and @HoaS thanks for the feedback. Maybe this thread is finally winding to a close... smile

Hmm, I have nm-applet running now in tint2, but I can't reproduce this..Maybe a new topic would be a good idea to see if anyone else has the same issue and we dont' derail this current thread

Re: Replace volti with volumeicon after all? (and drop xfce4-volumed)

I'm very late to this party, but yesterday I replaced pulseaudio with alsa on my BL installation.  I also replaced volti with volumeicon because of muting issues I'd noticed.  Everything worked as it is supposed to.  This morning I saw this thread and in addition commented out all references to volume and mute keys in my OB keybindings.  Everything continued to work as desired.  I did not notice any conflicts before commenting out the X86 keybinds.

I'm running BL on an HP Mini 210, which has the media control keys.

Cheers,
Andy N1KSN
