Re: January 2016 Screenshots

Holy crap.

HoaS just posted a suggestion for installing BL sid. Use the latest NoX siduction image and run @johnraff' netinstall script. How did you install and configure your setup? Post here or link to the DistroHoppers thread in OffTopic, please!

Beautiful, fog.

Re: January 2016 Screenshots

^Not too surprising. If you know how to shut down some of the GNOME services which are dependencies and deal with the resulting xsession errors (lock that file!), GNOME-shell is reasonable. Even KDE can be tamed somewhat. (I had the 3.14 shell running at 180MB idle for several months.)

I'd love to say that jessie Xfce blows them out of the water. However, jessie Xfce has some serious flaws and I'd suggest Mate to anyone looking for the best low-RAM desktop OOTB on jessie. It's the most feature-rich and well-integrated.

32 bit torrent link (if you have RAM for 64 bits you can run KDE, so stop posing)...

Re: January 2016 Screenshots

Yeah, Xfce beats them all but still i see it not as DE. Something between a DE and a WM. Just like the (un)famous Enlightenment. Cinnamon/Gnome, well 2 sides of a coin imho. Take your choice  8o

I really need a new GTK theme but I can't find one I really like.

Re: January 2016 Screenshots

^It looks good though. But those white windows are GTK3 too, aren't they? Can't they adopt the dark theme?

250 MB with Iceweasel running. Just needed fonts tweaked under Appearance and it's good to go.

Re: January 2016 Screenshots

I'll have to work on this a little (theme it and add Infinality font configs) and release it, it's too stupidly good. Pulse works without a hitch.

Re: January 2016 Screenshots

@brontosaurusrex
I have used this guide for installing infinality fonts.
The article refers to Wheezy but works fine on Jessie.

Nice; share the wall, please.

And what's the actual color gradient in the menu hilight? Another theme I'll have to port to fluxbox.

Yes they are, all my main windows are the light theme, the utilities (terminal, weather, clocks etc) are in the dark theme.
