Re: Boron alpha 1 iso available for testing and feedback

My testing machine is a thinkpad x230 with i5-3320M and 8GB RAM.

I followed the instructions but I had to run in this order to get a working dpkg back:

_$ sudo rm /etc/initramfs/post/update.d/z50-raspi-firmware
_$ sudo apt purge raspi-firmware

Otherwise this happens:

t6hqegC.png

Sorry for the random color but whoever invented transparent backgrounds in terminals is not my friend. It was the first color my mouse landed on, so that's it. By now it is a classic anthrazit, inspired by the pure Boron crystals. smile

On that note, the new direction of the default theme with the rounded corners and all that transparency is a bit too much WindowsVista for my taste. I didn't know that I still had residual pain from that dark period so easily triggered by key visual elements.

corner-radius = 0;
inactive-opacity = 1.0;

.. has such a nice timeless look. I mean, it's not like anyone is going to put anything useful into that screen estate gained by rounding corners... big_smile

Other than that the default Boron-light-aqua and the general themeing looks really nice.

I will still have to dig into the themes (as usual) because I work a lot with images and anything with too much of a tint can be a major distraction. But that is not something most people should bother about.

Next up: run my Ansible playbook for the desktops and see how that goes.

Re: Boron alpha 1 iso available for testing and feedback

@grubernd thanks for checking out the amd64 alpha iso.

The raspberry pi firmware issue has already come up, and a fix is posted here: https://forums.bunsenlabs.org/viewtopic … 16#p128516
But I see you have already done what's needed. smile

A beta iso is coming soon with that issue, and a couple of others,  fixed.

Re: Boron alpha 1 iso available for testing and feedback

@Pinhead, this alpha is 64 bit, the 64 bit beta is the next build John's going to do. We'll start a new thread for that and unsticky this one when it's done.

Should be just a few more days and you have all eternity, so...

Freaking Cenobites, always nagging. "Join us in hell! Enjoy the sweet suffering! Give us your beta!" wink
